Sena steals the show in return to Links Park – Partick Thistle Loan Watch: Week 1

Week 1 of the new BSR SPORTS Partick Thistle Loan Watch see’s a series of up’s and downs across the board including two Jag’s facing up against each other…

Billy Owens (Coldstream 1-10 EAST KILBRIDE) – Right Back

A comfortable afternoon for the number two, slotting in at right-back for the full 90 minutes, the youngster showed signs of pace and inventory. Billy will look to have more of a challenge in the next round as EK face Stirling Uni in the Scottish Cup Second Round.

James Lyon (Stranraer 2-0 STENHOUEMUIR) – Central Midfield

James began the match on the sidelines but was called into action two minutes before halftime. A hard day at the office as Lyon attempted to spark the comeback but ultimately it wasn’t to be for the Warriors as they were beaten comfortably in the end.

Mason McCready (Spartans 0-1 GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS) – Goalkeeper

Making his Scottish Cup debut, Mason played an integral part in the victory, producing an incredible save to keep the score goalless. A clean sheet in the Scottish Cup away to Spartans is not an easy task, however, McCready looked comfortable all afternoon impressing between the sticks.

STAR OF THE WEEK – Mouhamed Niang (Montrose 0-2 ALLOA ATHLETIC) – Centre Midfield

Sena returned to his former stomping ground with a point to prove. Returning to the midfield, the 21-year-old controlled the passages of play, picking up a goal and an assist for the Wasps as he deservedly collected the MOTM award.

Blair Lyons (MONTROSE 0-2 Alloa Athletic) – Left Wing

Up against his Jags teammate, Lyons was a standout but fell a little less successful. His work ethic and drive should have seen a penalty awarded within two minutes but referee Alan Newlands disagreed. Just two minutes later, Lyons was this time awarded a penalty after an outstanding mazy run through the heart of the Alloa defence. But, to his dismay and Sena’s delight, Lewis Milne failed to put the Gable Endies ahead, finishing wide.

Gospel Ocholi (BENBURB) – Injured

Ocholi was left out of this week’s squad after picking up a slight knock. The Benburb loanee will return to training on Wednesday.
